I Believe I Can Fly @ iFly Singapore

It was boarding time.

I checked-in without any luggage. I was going to experience something that I had never experienced before.

I was going to... FLY!

Whether it rains or shines, you can still experience flying in Singapore! Yes, you can experience indoor skydiving at iFly Singapore, located at Sentosa!

One hour before the scheduled flight, we had to be there for training and gearing up. Our friendly instructor invited us to go forward in pairs to practise the posture. This reminds me of my children's tummy time when they were still babies!

Next, we geared up ourselves. Lockers are available to keep your belongings (additional fee applies).

Suit, checked. Goggles, checked. Ear plugs, checked. Helmet, checked. And I also checked how the bottom of the wind tunnel looked like. Don't worry, the fans are located on the top, not at the bottom, so you won't be chopped if you can't fly up!

The group of flyers went into the Flight Chamber, and each of us had two skydives. The time for each indoor skydive is the time taken for a real skydiver to fall from 12000 feet to 3000 feet!

I was amazed by the courage of the group of children! They were so brave and none of them chickened out when we went into the Flight Chamber. It was a pity that my children couldn't join me this time as they are still under the minimum age requirement of 7.

Finally it was my turn. The wind was very strong inside but I couldn't fly high. Am I too heavy? I think it is more likely because I was too tensed up!

Tips when you are going for your iFly experience:

• Dress in comfortable clothing. Ladies, do not wear skirt or dress!
• Wear socks and shoes with laces e.g. sport shoes or sneakers. 
• Leave your accessories e.g. wedding band, earrings at home.
• Try to relax during the flight. (That is a reminder for myself)
• Smile, even if you can't relax like me. Because photos and video are taken (additional fee applies for purchase of photos and videos).
