Taiwan Travel: Accommodation in Taichung 台中: 53 Hotel 寶島53行館

One of the factors for considering an accommodation for overseas trips is its location. The accommodation that we chose to stay in Taichung is 53 Hotel 寶島53行館 , because it is just is a few minutes walk from Taichung (TRA) Station.

We checked in before the check-in time, and deposited our luggage at the reception. It was nice that the staff brought our luggage to our room!

The design of the lobby is quite chic, our children like this sofa!

Our Family Room is quite spacious!

There are television, refrigerator, electric kettle and air dryer. The bottles of mineral water were replenished every day.

Our elderly parents' Twin Room has a bath tub, but our Family Room does not have.

53 Hotel has a fitness centre for those of you who need to work out, and a laundry room for washing and drying your clothes.

Other than its proximity to train station, the famous ice-cream shop Miyahara 宫原眼科 (will share more in a separate post) is just opposite to 53 Hotel! A convenience store is located just next to the hotel. There is also a shopping mall Taroko Mall near Taichung (TRA) Station, where we had our meals at the food court, and grocery shopping at the supermarket. We spotted a long slide at Taroko Mall!

A not too long distance away from the hotel, there is Taichung Second Market 第二市場 (will share more in a separate post) and a popular sandwich shop 洪瑞珍.

I thought that staying in this area is very convenient. However, our private tour driver said that not many Singaporeans would choose to stay in this area, because it is not as "happening" as the main shopping districts, and there are many foreign workers. Anyway, I would prefer staying in a relatively quieter area.

One thing that I like 53 Hotel is the friendly staff, they greeted us every time we walked past the reception. In addition, they provided us with free postcards, and helped us send the postcards to Singapore for free!

We paid S$126 for Family Room per night and S$99 for Twin Room per night during our stay in December 2017.
