Thorny Affairs Roses vs Cacti @ Gardens by the Bay

[Media Invite]

We encountered two thorny affairs at Gardens by the Bay.

Hey, don't get the wrong idea...

Thorny Affair #1: War of the Roses Floral Display @ Flower Dome

When we entered the Flower Dome, I thought we were transported back to the medieval era in England!

"War of the Roses", inspired by a series of dynastic wars fought in the 15th century between the Royal Houses of Lancaster and York, is part of the "Gardens by the Bay Goes around the World" series for 2014.

Catch the roses from now until 6 April 2014! Admission fee to Flower Dome applies.

Thorny Affair #2: Sun Pavilion

Another new attraction at Gardens by the Bay, Sun Pavilion, houses the largest cacti and succulent collections in Southeast Asia.

It is located outdoor, between Cloud Forest and Far East Organisation Children's Garden. I was glad that there is shelter! Oh, the shelter is meant for the plants...

Admission to Sun Pavilion is FREE!

Just before we encountered the two thorny affairs, we visited OCBC Skyway. Though we have visited Gardens by the Bay many times, it was our first time going up OCBC Skyway.

The 128-metre walk at a height of 22 metres posed a big challenge to me because I have acrophobia (fear of height)!

My hair stood up like thorns on the cactus / roses when I was up on the OCBC Skywalk!

Anyway, I overcame the challenge and completed the walk!
