The last time I walked along Sembawang Road was more than 10 years ago. Together with my friends, we learnt canoeing at Sembawang Seasports Club.
I can still remember how ulu (remote) the place was. But somehow, I enjoyed the quietness along the road.
After more than 10 years, I was there again, bringing my children to venture Sembawang Park.
However, despite of the remoteness of Sembawang Park, it is now quite "happening". People go there to have barbecue, enjoy the sand and sea, and children enjoy the playground.
The warship structure at Sembawang Park is very unique, but it is a tad too challenging for Pei Pei and Hao Hao.
I helped Hao Hao to climb up into the hole, then when I attempted to climb, I couldn't get myself up! There were two older girls who kindly offered to help me look after Hao Hao.
Pei Pei managed to climb up... halfway.
Sand playground is their all time favourite. We appreciated the kindness of a family that shared with us their sand castle building toys.(read: remind myself to bring the toys next time!)
I love this sight, when the loving siblings held their hands and walked past the old tree.
If you are driving, drive along Sembawang Road, you will see a carpark with a big sign "Sembawang Park". But do drive further down to another carpark if you are going to the playground. If you are taking public transport, you can take bus 882.
