Water colour, colour pencils, markers, crayons... we didn't use these for our drawing last weekend. We drew with pancake batter. Yes, pancake batter!
Inspired by this daddy, I thought Pei Pei and Hao Hao may enjoy drawing with pancake batter.
See our not-so-professional drawings, can you make a guess what we drew?
It was quite messy, but we had lots of fun!
Ingredients for pancake:
2 eggs
30 grams butter (melted)
250 ml milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup plain flour
1.5 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Some tips on making fluffy pancakes:
- Mix the dry ingredients (sugar, flour, baking powder and salt), and separately, mix the wet ingredients (eggs, butter, milk). Then add the wet mixture to the dry mixture.
- Do not overmix the batter - mix until the ingredients just combine, it is ok to be a bit lumpy.
- Start cooking as soon as the batter is prepared.
- Use medium fire to make the pancakes brown.

We used to do this for the kids, but didn't think to let them draw. The sqeeze bottle is ingenious! Such fun!
ReplyDeleteCathy, yes the squeeze bottle is so useful!
DeleteFun to do and fun to eat for the kids:)
ReplyDeleteIt was very fun, but a lot of work to wash up!
