When Trick Eye Museum at Sentosa was just opened in June, DaDi and I had a date there (Read this post for our experience). I did miss my children, and thought that it would be fun to have them taking wacky photos with us.
When Trick Eye Museum at Sentosa was just opened in June, DaDi and I had a date there (Read this post for our experience). I did miss my children, and thought that it would be fun to have them taking wacky photos with us.
Thanks to the nice folks from Trick Eye Museum, we were back again last week!
3 things we like about Trick Eye Museum:
1. Feel free to touch
As it is a touch museum, we don't need to keep screaming "don't touch" to the children. In fact, we encouraged them to touch, climb, sit and stand on the exhibits!
Oh well, though we were spared from screaming "don't touch", we had to remind the children to make way if they were obstructing other visitors.
2. Family bonding through creativity
While there are posters of examples on how to pose, we didn't tell the children to follow the examples, we just let them use their creativity to interact with the exhibits, and snapped photos without telling them to look into camera.
3. The themes are suitable for family photos
Many exhibits are great for taking photo with a small group of people, the effect of the photos turn out to be very interesting!
Practical tips for families visiting Trick Eye Museum
- Avoid peak hours - weekdays 12 noon to 6 pm, and weekends. We visited at 10 am on a Saturday, the crowd starts to come in by 11 am.
- Wear comfortably as you may have to climb on the exhibits or lie on the floor.
- It may take 1 to 2 hours to take photos, so visit the washroom beforehand as there is no washroom inside the museum.
- Make sure the children have enough rest and are well fed before the visit, happy children will be more willing to pose.
- Look out for signs of "Photo Point" on the floor to get the best angle to capture the photo.
- Don't seek perfection to take the perfect photo. Just relax and enjoy the family time, and be considerate by not hogging an exhibit for too long.
