Hao Hao is very interested in dinosaurs, and he has been borrowing books on dinosaurs from the library. When I told him that we would be visiting Sea Monsters: Past and Present exhibition at S.E.A. Aquarium, he was very excited!
We were greeted by a poster on the wall. What was so special about this? Using SPH Augmented Reality application (iOS or Android), the sea monster came alive! You can even take a photo with the sea monster, just make sure that your head is below the poster.

"Is it dead or alive?" The children asked when they saw this.
Of course it was dead! Else no one would dare to stand next to it! The children learnt that it was called Plesiosaur.
Wow, the jaw of Megalodon was so huge! The children didn't dare to stand near it as they were worried that they would be swallowed by it!
We also saw the fossil of Ichthyosaur.
And then we saw another type of fossil - living fossils! What are living fossils? They are animals or plants that closely resemble species known from fossils.
They don't look like monsters at all! They look quite cute!
We took less than half an hour to walk through this exhibition, and the children were eager to explore S.E.A. Aquarium. We had visited this place 2 years ago, but didn't manage to appreciate the marine life back then (read our parenting lesson at S.E.A. Aquarium). This time, the children enjoyed very much as they have learnt more marine life through reading.

It was quite crowded when we visited there on Saturday, probably we shall avoid weekends and public holidays when we visit there next time.

ReplyDeleteSigh, the children were not keen to take photos with the jaw. We took some family photos inside the aquarium though.
DeleteS.E.A. Aquarium never fails to impress!! I like that they change their themes so regularly so makes return visits that much more enjoyable and surprising :)

It is our second time there, the children enjoy it this time as compared to our visit 2 years ago. Think they will enjoy it even more when they are older and know more about marine life!

DeleteMy three-year-old was intrigued and slightly fearful of the fish with feet, heh. But it was pretty cool! And yeah, it got really crowded on a Saturday.
