Have you started preparing for Chinese New Year? Nowadays, getting Chinese New Year goodies is so easy, just a few clicks on the computer or mobile devices, and the goodies arrive right at our doorstep. Recently, we are introduced to Bing Liang Bakery (https://cnygoodies.sg). Started in 1998 in Muar, Johor, the family business of traditional handmade and homemade bakery has been growing. Their collaboration with their Singapore partner Mason Home Decor made their products easily accessible to Singaporeans.
Bing Liang Bakery offers 3 types of pineapple tarts. Pineapple Tarts (Ball) have non-crumbly texture, and are slightly flaky. That is because top grade golden butter is used in their recipe. Nonya Pineapple Tarts look like lovely sunflowers, and the buttery base melts in the mouth. Both types have generous amount of pineapple jam that is not too sweet, and the pineapple fibres are so fine that they do not stuck between our teeth! Last but not least, Cheese Pineapple Tart is an interesting twist to the usual pineapple tarts! The savoury cheese is well balanced with the pineapple filling.
Premium Peanut Cookies are soft and melt in our mouth! And these cookies have a delicious after taste. Don't say I never warn you, they are highly addictive!
DaDi's childhood favourite snack is Kuih Pintal - Plait Cookies. Packed in air tight bag, the cookies are crunchy. He has already declared that the whole pack belongs to him! I shall see the fight between the father and the children over the delicacies!
The first bite of Honey Chicken Floss Crispy Cracker was a surprise to me. Because when I opened the can, I had mistaken the goodies as plain love letters folded in rectangular shape. The crackers are delicious and I can't stop myself from eating one after the other!
Salted-egg-flavoured food is in the trend, and Bing Liang Bakery offers Crispy Salted Egg Seaweed Popiah Cracker. The seaweed crackers are crispy, how I wish that the salted egg flavour can be slightly stronger to suit my taste buds.
Hae Bee Hiam Roll (Sambal Prawn Cracker) is one of the popular Chinese New Year goodies. Loaded with spicy prawn sambal, they have won my parents' hearts as they enjoy eating such yummy delicacies.
The fragrance of spices emerged once I opened the lid of the container, these crackers are crispy and savoury.
