Chinese New Year means a lot to us because this is the time when we get to catch up with family and friends. Chinese New Year goodies are must-have items during the gatherings, and this year, we are thankful to receive the delectable goodies from Royal Bakery (cnydelivery.com).

Established in 1971, Royal Bakery set up its first bakery in Pahang, Malaysia. But long before that, they had been baking and selling Muah Chee and Pineapple Tarts at hawker stalls in the streets of Malaysia. In 2018, they expanded in Singapore with the help of their partners in Singapore. Having a strong belief in keeping the family recipe, Royal Bakery continues to produce goodies that are homemade and handmade.

Royal Bakery's Golden Pillow Pineapple Tarts simply melt in the mouth! My parents kept singing praises as they were popping the pineapple tarts into mouth. The buttery crust is perfectly combined with the pineapple filling, which has a brilliant balance of sweetness and slightly sourness. I love the bite-size as I don't have to worry about cleaning up after savouring the pineapple tarts.

The thin layer of each piece of Kuih Kapit Love Letters (Original) makes it extremely crispy, it crumbles beautifully as we bite it. Each love letter has different size because the bakers painstakingly toast the love letters by hand, not by machine. The love letters have a lovely buttery fragrance and they are not too sweet, no wonder my children keep asking for more. Other than original flavour, Royal Bakery also offer love letters with pandan flavour, as well as with chocolate or peanut butter filling.

Cuttlefish Snack is my favourite indulgent Chinese New Year snack. Even as a person who don't quite enjoy spicy food, my taste buds are delighted by the slight spiciness in each crunch. They are very crispy as they are baked to perfection. Please pardon me for opening my mouth widely as I greedily pop the entire piece of goodness into my mouth.

The fragrance of salted egg emerged once the lid of the container of Salted Egg Chips was opened. The seasoning covers each single piece of chip adequately, and hence each piece of chip is flavourful. Royal Bakery also offers Salted Egg Fish Skin and Salted Egg Lotus Root, which look mouth-watering too.

With the superior quality of pork floss from Taiwan, the popcorn-sized crispy Pop Floss Roll Snack is just too addictive. It was so delicious that I popped one piece into my mouth, then another, and another... until I suddenly realised that a quarter of the container became empty! Ok, I shall remind myself to save some for my family and friends!

Fluffy and bouncy, Royal Bakery's Kueh Lapis has the depth of rich buttery flavour. It is moist but not too oily. The size of their Kueh Lapis is 20 cm x 20 cm x 5 cm, so we shared some with our parents, and they enjoyed the yummy delight very much!   

One service that I like about Royal Bakery is that they offer free tasting at their shop located at MacPherson. We can sample the goodies and speak to the staff before placing order.
