Reading with Scholastic 2: Thea Stilton The Secret Notebook, Pip Bartlett's Guide to Unicorn Training, Eerie Elementary Sam Battles the Machine

[Sponsored Review]

September school holiday is approaching, here are some interesting books from Scholastic to engage my children during the holiday.

Thea Stilton Mouseford Academy #14 The Secret Notebook

One of my children's favourite series of book - Thea Stilton Mouseford Academy! As both of them were eager to read their favourite book, I asked them to discuss with each other who read first, and was pleased to see that they compromised with each other instead of fighting over the book!

Synopsis:
The Thea Sisters form their own special poetry club, and they discover a secret notebook during one of their meetings. It was written by a mouselet who attended the academy forty years before. The Thea Sisters are fascinated by the notebook, but it ends suddenly. Will the Thea Sisters ever find out how the story ended?

Author: Thea Stilton
Age: 10 - 12

Pip Bartlett's Guide to Unicorn Training

From bestselling authors Maggie Stiefvater (author of The Raven Cycle series) and Jackson Pearce (author of As You Wish) comes the second installment in a series bursting with magical creatures, whimsical adventures, and quirky illustrations.

Synopsis:
Pip Bartlett has a way with magical creatures. But even she's challenged by Regent Maximus, a unicorn who's afraid of everything. With the help of her friend Tomas, Pip has to get Regent Maximus ready for a big unicorn competition-even if Regent Maximus would rather do anything than compete. Making matters worse, someone mysterious is trying to win the competition by cheating-and if Pip and Tomas don't stop the bad things from happening, it's not only Regent Maximus who'll have reason to be afraid.

Authors: Jackson Pearce & Maggie Stiefvater
Age: 10 - 12

Eerie Elementary: Sam Battles the Machine

This series is part of Scholastic’s early chapter book line, Branches, aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

Synopsis:
There's a new teacher at Eerie Elementary! In book 6, a mysterious substitute teacher arrives at Eerie Elementary. Sam, Lucy, and Antonio think he must be up to no good! They follow him and discover he lives in mad scientist Orson Eerie's old house! And he's building a strange machine! Who is this substitute teacher? Is he trying to free Orson -- to somehow bring him back to life for real?! Sam and his friends are about to find out!
