6 Christmas Craft Ideas for Children

It has been raining the whole day today, but this did not stop us from being productive! We have made 6 types of Christmas cards and ornaments as Christmas presents for Pei Pei and Hao Hao's teachers!

Idea #1. Christmas Toilet Paper Roll Flower Ornament

Materials:
Toilet paper roll x 1 (make 2 flower ornaments)
Glitter glue
Scissors
UHU glue / hot glue
Silver thread

Method:
  1. Flatten the toilet paper roll, cut it into 10 stripes - each flower ornament needs 5 stripes.
  2. Paint the stripes with glitter glue.
  3. When dry, put a dab of UHU glue / hot glue at the top of a stripe, put another stripe and press them together. Secure 5 stripes together to form the flower.
  4. Attach a piece of silver thread.

Idea #2. Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer

Materials:
Toilet paper roll x 1
Red pom pom x 1
Brown coloured paper
Black marker and brown marker
UHU glue / hot glue
Scissors

Method (adapted from Krokotak):

  1. Flatten the toilet paper roll, draw the lines as shown above, cut along the lines.
  2. Press as indicated by the arrow, press the other side.
  3. Fold the stripes backwards, and curl using finger or pencil.
  4. Cut a circle from the brown coloured paper, and paste it on the face of the reindeer.
  5. Use craft glue to secure the red pom pom as the nose.
  6. Use black marker to draw the eyes and mouth, and brown markers to draw the hooves.

The one that we made did not look really like a reindeer. Pei Pei was holding it and said, "Mooooooo!"

Toilet paper roll x 1
Pom pom x 2
Pipe cleaner (chenille stem)

Scissors

Method:
  1. Wrap the toilet paper roll with white paper. Secure using glue stick.

  3. Cut a triangle from the orange coloured paper to make the nose. Alternatively, draw the nose using orange marker.
  4. Draw the eyes and mouth with black marker.
